Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

  • 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, South CR 800W, near West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Amy M. Bricker, 34, 18B Road, Tippecanoe. Bricker was traveling on South CR 800W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.

 

North Webster

Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:

  • 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, North SR 13, north of East CR 850N, Syracuse. Driver: Maria D. Miller, 17, North CR 850E, Leesburg. Miller was traveling north on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.

 

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:

  • 7:12 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, South Syracuse Webster Road, Syracuse. Driver: Arthur W. Reimer, 63, North Sawgrass Lane, Leesburg. Reimer was traveling south on South Syracuse Webster Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage under $750.
  • 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 1200 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Driver: Zachary D. Hershberger, 26, East Syracuse Street, Milford. Hershberger was traveling east on Bowser Road when he turned into the Wilby’s gas station area and hit the building’s guard post. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
  • 1:56 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 1201 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Drivers: unknown; and Cynthia K. Routh, 72, North Center Street Extension, North Webster. A parked, unoccupied vehicle was hit by Routh’s vehicle as Routh was traveling through a parking lot. Damage up to $10,000.

 

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

  • 10:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 920 Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A parked, unoccupied vehicle sustained damage from an unknown driver. Damage up to $5,000.
  • 5:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, Parent Drive, south of Petro Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Sue A. Jodry, 74, Tippe Downs Drive, Warsaw; and Jessica L. Caswell, 25, Arlington Lane, Warsaw. Jodry was turning right off Petro Drive onto Parent Drive when she hit Caswell’s vehicle head-on. Caswell said she was traveling north on Parent Drive when Jodry’s vehicle began to merge into her lane of travel. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
  • 9:53 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 113 Chamberlin Drive, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A vehicle registered to Samantha Minaya, Goshen, was parked and unoccupied when it was hit by an unknown driver. Damage up to $2,500.
  • 9:31 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, North SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Martha P. Ruiz, 38, East Walnut Street, Akron; and Carol C. Hartle, 52, South CR 400W, Warsaw. Ruiz was traveling east on Jalynn Street and began turning south on North SR 15 when she entered Hartle’s lane of travel. Damage up to $2,500.
  • 6:17 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 1215 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A vehicle registered to Jason T. Freel, Syracuse, was parked and unoccupied when it was hit by an unknown driver. Damage up to $2,500.
  • 6:14 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, East Winona Avenue, near South High Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Stephen L. Strain, 60, South Indiana Street 49, Warsaw; and Lora G. Wood, 51, East CR 900S, Claypool. Strain was traveling north on South High Street when he hit Wood’s vehicle, which was traveling west on East Winona Avenue. Strain’s vehicle rolled onto its side. A passenger in Strain’s vehicle, Alexzandria J. Staab, 20, Pierceton, complained of head pain but denied treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
  • 5:17 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 1150 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Driver: Peggy S. Bause, 69, East CR 100N, Warsaw. Bause was turning into a parking lot when she hit a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
  • 12:59 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, East US 30, near North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: James C. Krider, 35, North CR 600E, Warsaw; and Mason M. Perkins, 20, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Krider was traveling north on East US 30 when he entered the intersection block of East US 30 and North Parker Street. Krider’s vehicle hit Perkins’ vehicle in a right-angle style accident. A witness said Krider’s vehicle ran a red light when he hit Perkins’ vehicle. Perkins was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for knee pain and a large facial contusion. Damage up to $25,000.
  • 8:21 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Marcos A. Rico, 24, East Levi Lee Road Lot 134, Warsaw; and Dennis K. Wakeman, 69, Douglas Avenue, Elkhart. Rico was traveling east on Jalynn Street when he hit Wakeman’s vehicle. Wakeman and a witness said they had the green light for southbound traffic when the accident occurred. Damage up to $5,000.
  • 10:48 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, East Market Street, east of South McKinley Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Collin A. Bonewitz, 20, North CR 200W, North Manchester; and unknown. Bonewitz was traveling east on East Market Street when he began to leave the roadway and rear-ended a parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by Shanna R. Webb, Warsaw. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
