Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents: 

  • 4:34 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, North CR 300E, south of East CR 700N, Leesburg. Driver: Cody J. Felger, 38, EMS W19 Lane, North Webster. Felger’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
  • 8:47 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, North CR 650W, north of West CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Taylor C. See, 22, East Old Road 30, Pierceton. A deer collided with See’s vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
  • 10:22 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, West Lake Street, west of North Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brett M. Whetstone Burchett, 26, Miami Drive, Warsaw. Whetstone Burchett believes his vehicle was hit by a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

  • 10:32 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, Lake City Highway, west of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Jamie A. Graf, 40, North Miami Street, Wabash; and David M. Widman, 59, East Main Street, Larwill. Graf was going to move his vehicle to the left lane. He moved his vehicle over sooner than expected due to another vehicle in the right lane which suddenly slowed down. His vehicle hit Widman’s. Damage: Up to $10,000.
  • 4:18 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2211 E. Center St., Warsaw. Drivers: Cassandra S. Steen, 28, Latta Street, Warsaw; and Miguel R. Piedra, 44, East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Steen was trying to pull through a parking space to drive away. She was distracted by placing her coat in the passenger area. Her vehicle hit Piedra’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
  • 3:43 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, Anchorage Road and Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Vanessa E. Arnold, 26, West Spring Street, Etna Green; and Ladonna R. Petro, 67, Westwood Road, Winona Lake. Arnold was looking for something on her floorboard and her vehicle hit Petro’s. Damage: Up to $5,000.
