Kathryn Rhamey
PIERCETON — A woman with addresses on file in both Pierceton and Warsaw is facing charges in two separate incidents that occurred three days apart.
Kathryn Marriah Rhamey, 27, with addresses listed as both 3762 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw, and 3104 E. Wooster Road, Pierceton, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
According to court documents, on May 25, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence in reference to a domestic battery. The officer spoke with a woman at the residence, who said she and Rhamey had gotten into a verbal argument earlier that day. The woman said Rhamey left the residence for a period of time but later returned and the two got into another argument.
The woman said that Rhamey began attempting to batter her. She said she fled to the back of the residence, but Rhamey followed her and began pulling her hair and hitting her. The woman said she eventually fell to the floor and Rhamey continued to strike her. The woman said she then took her child and left the residence.
The woman told police that there were three children in the residence at the time of the alleged battery.
On May 28, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office noticed that the vehicle in front of him, a Honda Civic, had an expired license plate. The officer activated the lights on his vehicle. At that time, the Honda Civic turned right and stopped in a parking lot. The passenger door opened and a female, later identified as Rhamey, exited the vehicle and took off running.
Rhamey was found hiding under a parked truck. She told police she ran because she believed she had a warrant out for her arrest.
Rhamey was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail July 25 on a $10,850 surety and cash bond.
