Ronnie L. “Ron” York, 75, Etna Green, passed away at 11:45 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 27, 1942, in Candler, N.C. to Truman Lewis and Verta (Dobbs) York.

He grew up in New Castle, graduated from New Castle High School, and attended Indian River Community College Fort Pierce, Fla. He was a United States Army veteran and was married on April 16, 1966 in Warsaw to Patricia E. “Pat” (Ulmer) Lozier, who survives. He retired from J&M Gravel in Etna Green and lived most of his life in Etna Green and Fort Pierce, Fla.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Lions Club both in Etna Green.

He is survived by his wife: Pat York, Etna Green; two daughters: Ronda Allen, Columbia City; Ronnie (Todd) Horn, Etna Green; son: Jeffery York, Winona Lake; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sister: Carol (Pete) Freeman, Warsaw; brother: Kenneth (Bernice) York, Port St. Lucie, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Thomas Lozier; great granddaughter, Amelia Perry; and daughter-in-law, Lizabeth York.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the United Methodist Church, 131 W Broadway St, Etna Green with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating. Burial will take place in the Etna Green Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Etna Green United Methodist Church or Etna Green Lions Club. Envelopes will be available at the church.
