110 Craft Meatery will be hosting a St. Paddy’s Day block party on Friday, March 17.

WARSAW — Local businesses are collaborating to transform Buffalo Street into a St. Patty’s Day block party on Friday, March 17.

This is the second year that 110 Craft Meatery will be holding a celebration for the Irish holiday. During the first event last year, 110 Craft Meatery owner Jason Brown explained they had expected around 140 people to show up for the party, however, over 350 people showed up. This year they are planning for an even larger crowd.

110 Craft Meatery, B-Mac’s on Buffalo and Mad Anthony’s are joining forces to create a night with eclectic entertainment lining Buffalo Street. A beer tent, a fire pit, a stage for bands and games will fill the street. The NCAA tournament will be on in The Vic.

At 9 a.m., Buffalo Street will be shut down for preparations for the event. At 5 p.m. the event will be open to the public. The Match Sellers will take the stage at 6 p.m. followed by the Tumbleweed Jumpers at 9 p.m. The bands will play “folksy acoustic music” throughout the evening.

Mad Anthony’s will be providing beer for purchase during the event. B-Macs will be cooking up a Irish themed meal for the celebration. They will have a hog roast outside and will also have Irish stew, fish and chips and other Irish themed foods available.

110 Craft Meatery will be releasing a privately made beer during the event. The Kosciusko Kettleheads home-brew club collaborated with 110 Craft Meatery to hold a competition to come up with a beer that would be brewed by the Mountain Town Brewing in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Local home brewer Jon Harding was the winner of the competition. The beer will be released for the first time at the event.

There is a $5 fee for admission and $6 fee for food and beverage items. Free admission can be gained by those who ride bicycles to the party. Individuals can ride from home, or they can meet at The Trailhouse in Winona Lake at 6 p.m. and ride together.

This event is for individuals 21 and over.
