Nancy Sterk Akron obituaryNancy Sterk, 62, Akron, passed away 11:53 a.m. Sunday, May 3 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Nancy was born on June 24, 1952, in Rochester to Cornelius H. and Winnie (Kelderhouse) Sterk. She graduated from Akron High School in 1970. She was a member of Akron United Methodist Church. She worked at Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, for several years and for Biomet in Warsaw for a short time.

Nancy enjoyed collecting angels and buying trinkets for the family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and Sodoku.

Surviving are four sisters: Margaret Tromp, Schererville, Ind., Bernice (Paul) Brown, Akron, Wilma (Don) Belsan, Brookfield, Ill., and Cornelia Moore, Akron; four brothers: Charles (Marilyn) Sterk, Claypool, Robert (Sharon) Sterk, Sevierville, Tenn., Bert (Theressa) Sterk, Arkon, Lee (Leta) Sterk, Rochester; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her are three brothers: John, Herman and Richard Sterk; three sisters: Nellie Mosher, Carrie Koster and Dorothy Sterk.

Services will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 16 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to the Akron United Methodist Church’s stained glass window fund.
